Background
The Sikh Congressional Caucus was formed by Representatives Judy Chu (D-California) and David Valadao (R-California) on April 24, 2013. The caucus sought to educate members of Congress and the general public about Sikh issues and support the American Sikh community. This caucus was formally called the American Sikh Caucus. The name was changed in 2022. The caucus seeks to address issues such as military discrimination, violence and bullying of Sikhs and raise general awareness of Sikhs and their contributio
