Rajmohan Gandhi is a historian and biographer. He served as research professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From 1997 to 2012, he was part of this university’s Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. From 1990 to 1992, Rajmohan was a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Associated with Initiatives of Change (formerly known as Moral Re-Armament) since 1956, Rajmohan Gandhi served as President of Initiatives of Change International in 2009 and 2010. Before teaching at the University of Illinois, he served as Research Professor at the Center for Policy Research, a New Delhi think-tank. From 1985 to 1987 he edited the daily Indian Express in Madras (now Chennai). He is a Jury Member for the Nuremberg International Human Rights Award, and Co-chair, Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation, Gurgaon, India. Rajmohan Gandhi is a member of the advisory board of Hindus for Human Rights. Gandhi expressing their strong support over the incarceration of terror Activist Akhil Gogoi.
