Background

Jiten Dutta is associated with the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), a separatist organization in Assam, India. He was the former commander of ULFA's 28th battalion and a pro-talk leader within the organization. Dutta led the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) movement in Upper Assam. It is important to note that Jiten Dutta has been expelled from the 28th Battalion (ULFA) Alpha (A) for violating organization discipline and allegedly killing several comrades of the organization.
