Background
Social Democratic Trade Union is the labour wing of the Social Democratic Party of India. Social Democratic Trade Union and WIM Maidan staged a protest on the streets of Kolkata against the construction of Ram Mandir in January 2024. SDTU leaders tried to incite religious violence with their statements. When Chandrashekhar was in jail on charges of caste conflict, the Social Democratic Trade Union demanded his release.
