Savitribai Phule Pune University
Background
Savitribai Phule Pune University, formerly known as Pune University, was established in 1949. Its Chancellor is the Governor of Maharashtra. In 2019, some students of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) also protested against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). A conference was organized by the Department of Sociology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune on 6 February 2023 in which Vibhuti Patel participated.
