Savitribai Phule Village Library (SPVL)—located in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh—is a grassroots community library, cultural center, and educational initiative founded to advance anti-caste education, critical literacy, and Ambedkarite philosophy in rural and semi-urban Uttar Pradesh. Named in honor of the pioneering 19th-century social reformer and educator Savitribai Phule, the library provides free access to books on Dalit-Bahujan history, constitutional rights, social justice, and progressive literature for local youth, students, and marginalized communities. In addition to housing an open-access reading space, the center organizes educational workshops, study circles, book distribution drives, and community discussions celebrating the legacies of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jyotirao Phule, Periyar E. V. Ramasamy, and other anti-caste icons, striving to dismantle educational inequities and foster critical consciousness at the grassroots.
