Deep Sidhu (born Sandeep Singh Sidhu; April 2, 1984 – February 15, 2022) was an Indian actor, legal professional, and socio-political activist who emerged as a prominent figure during the 2020–2021 Indian farmers' protest. Originally trained as a lawyer at Punjabi University, Patiala, he worked in corporate law and legal management before embarking on a modeling and acting career. During the 2020–2021 agrarian agitation, Sidhu transitioned into political activism, establishing the Shambu Morcha at the Punjab-Haryana border to advocate for regional rights, federal autonomy, and the protection of farming communities. In September 2021, he founded Waris Punjab De ("Heirs of Punjab"), a socio-political organization aimed at preserving Punjab's cultural identity, asserting regional federal rights, and organizing community youth. Following the events at the Red Fort on Republic Day in January 2021, he faced legal charges and arrest before being granted bail. On February 15, 2022, Sidhu died in a fatal automobile collision on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Haryana.
